Preparing for Giving Tuesday

2 min read

The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is Giving Tuesday, also known as a global day of generosity. When handled properly, it should be one of the most impactful days of the year from a giving standpoint.

Hopefully, you’ve been planning a Giving Tuesday strategy for quite some time.

Here are a couple of last minute tips that have proven to help nonprofits be ready for the big day:

Verify that your links are active

Make sure that all links in your email campaigns, social posts, and webpages are active and working. This will ensure a seamless donor journey that maximizes the number of gifts received. Losing a potential donor because a link is broken or a complicated user experience is avoidable—if you’re prepared.

Partner with a local small business

If there is a business that aligns with your mission and is looking to get involved with giving, consider a partnership where a percent of sales on Giving Tuesday goes to your organization. You could also collaborate with a business willing to match gifts.  Thinking of unique ways of partnering on Giving Tuesday can increase the impact of the day and encourage new donors to get involved with your cause.

Band together with other Giving Tuesday movements

Many communities have existing coalitions where groups of organizations band together as one for good. By participating in an existing movement, you can increase the reach of your campaign by using the tools already established like social media and web pages created to help those who want to give during Giving Tuesday but might not know how to get involved.

Whatever your plans are, Rescigno’s wishes you success in your year-end fundraising efforts. As always, if you need assistance getting your year-end appeals designed, printed, and mailed, reach out to us. We can help you at info@rescignos.com.
