This Corona-virus pandemic has been going on for quite some time now. A show of hands, please, for those of you who are sick and tired of it and don’t want to take it anymore.
While we're relatively sure that you just raised your hand (at least mentally), you may also be between a rock and a hard place.
On the "rock side" are those who say it’s poor form to try to take advantage of a time when so many people in our country have died due to this virus. On the "hard place" side, are all of the great things you’ve been able to accomplish since mid-March.
Really, we’re proud of most of our clients. They haven’t sat back. They’ve continued to communicate and ask for support. And with very gratifying results.
Making the best of a bad situation isn’t nothing, if you’ll excuse the double negative. In fact, it really is quite something.
Above and beyond that, however, how many of you are holding back on reporting your successes because you or your board or others don’t want to come across as opportunists.
Now isn’t the time to be shy or hesitant. Other nonprofits (the average donor gives to 4-5 nonprofits) are letting their donors know and celebrate their shared achievements and you should too.
Unabashedly, now is the time to capitalize on your efforts during Covid-19. Tell people, especially your donors, old and new, what they have helped to accomplish.
If you don’t tell them, who will? Remember, people give to winners and many of you are just that. You've done great things and helped many people through this terrible time in our history.
Share that news with anyone and everyone you can. In so doing, you’ll be ensuring even more success as we all move forward.
