You may or may not know that, historically, the Black community has been very philanthropic.
Engaging Black donors and donors of Color require a different strategy.
Think of the last time you tried to engage Black donors. What was their response?
If there was disinterest, did you try to follow-up so you could understand why the disinterest exists?
If Black donors are not responding, try engaging them on their values and by all means learn their stories.
Listen and begin to cultivate a more inclusive donor base by inspiring donors of color with stories that honor their own communities.
